[2] Yahoo! finance [3] is one of the most famous and successfull finance news website. It has tons of informations, as you can easily check (YHOO on Yahoo! Finance [4], by example). Perhaps too famous already...
Google couldnt resist and and launched Google Finance [5], as announced by Forbes [6].
As usual, Google seems to "get it right". Just have a look on GOOG on Google Finance [7] : you'll get the AJAX feeling : a responsive, dynamic application.
For example, point your mouse on the graphical datas : the mouse pointer will follow the curve, showing numerical datas. Good idea.
On the right, Google shows a list of events and news about the company. This is already an interesting feature. But Google goes farther : it shows the event on the chart, making it easier to see the event effect on the quote.
The Google Finance beta [8] is a very good start. But in that field, Google is far behind Yahoo! Finance [9] : much more data is available to build a detailed financial analysis. Nevertheless, Google is a very fast-moving player, so things could change in the foreseable future.
