Il existe désormais des applications "portables" [1]: on peut les emmener partout avec soi, via un sticks USB [2]. C'est le cas, sous Windows, pour les applications opensource comme (portable) openoffice.org [3] (alternative à Microsoft Office), (portable) firefox [4] (remplacement de IE) et (portable) thunderbird [5] (alternative à Outlook).
