It's in Google interests to actively combat click fraud, and that's what their experts are doing, based on multiple factors (IP, time, patterns, AI methods etc). Of course, they wont share too many details, to make the job harder for the bad guys.

Since Google Agreed to Censor Results in China last month, Google lost the confidence many web users gave to them, and their shares falled accordingly, even after Google published their official response.

Google now publishes their testimony: The Internet in China. The Google shares seem to rise again since next week, according to the 5 days Google chart on Yahoo finance.

Google & Skype Investing in FON WiFi

Google and Skype invested $22 million in a Spanish startup, FON. The startup aims at creating a global Wi-Fi internet access, by sharing connections.

FON Logo

FON members can share their Wi-Fi access for free ("Linus" members, named after Linus Torvalds, creator of Linux), or even charge for it ("Bill" members, named after Bill Gates of microsoft.com).

As Wi-Fi accesses are located in a very restricted area, perhaps Google see it as a new occasion to sell specially targeted ads ?
